Terms of use
Last updated 14 October 2026. These terms apply when you use coverlist.co.uk. By using Coverlist, you agree to them.
1. Who we are
Coverlist is run by Atlian Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 16251177, registered office 4th Floor, Silverstream House, 45 Fitzroy Street, London W1T 6EB ("we", "us"). Contact: help@coverlist.co.uk.
2. Who Coverlist is for
Coverlist is a free tool for insurance brokers and other professionals in the UK, used in the course of their business. It is not for consumers.
3. What Coverlist does, and what it doesn't
- It reads the insurance clauses of supported JCT and NEC contracts and lists the insurance requirements it finds, each with a quote and its page.
- It is a checklist to help you place cover. It is not legal advice, insurance advice or any other professional advice, and it creates no adviser relationship with you or your client.
- It doesn't recommend a policy, insurer or limit, and it doesn't arrange insurance.
- You remain responsible for the advice you give your client, for checking the contract and your client's cover, and for your own regulatory duties. Questions about contract wording should go to a solicitor.
4. Accuracy
Every requirement Coverlist finds quotes the contract with its page, and anything it isn't sure of is marked CHECK. But it uses AI to read documents, and it can miss or misread things. It reads only the pages in your file, and can't read scanned pages or documents left out of it.
Check every line against the contract before you rely on it or send it to a client. We don't promise that any cover list is complete or free of errors.
5. Supported contracts
Coverlist reads the contract forms listed on the website. It tells you when a form isn't supported rather than guessing. We may add or remove forms at any time.
6. Your content
- Only check contracts you are entitled to share with us for this purpose, in line with any confidentiality duties you owe.
- We use contract text only to make your cover list, then discard it. We claim no rights in your contracts.
- A logo you add stays on your device. You confirm you have the right to use it.
7. Your cover lists
You may use, print and share your cover lists with your clients and others involved in the contract. Please keep the "Checked with Coverlist" footer and the not-advice line on them, and don't present a cover list as legal advice.
8. Fair use
You must not:
- check contracts in bulk by automated means, or try to get round rate limits or bot protection
- copy, scrape or reverse engineer the service, its rulebook or its results to build a competing product
- upload malware, unlawful material or anything you have no right to share
- interfere with the service or with other people's use of it
9. Our rights
We own the Coverlist name, logo, website, software and rulebook. These terms give you no rights in them beyond using the service. JCT and NEC are trade marks of their owners. Coverlist is not affiliated with or endorsed by either.
10. Availability
Coverlist is free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time, and limit or block use that breaks these terms. We don't promise it will always be available or uninterrupted.
11. Our liability
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.
- Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, business, revenue, goodwill or anticipated savings, or for any indirect or consequential loss.
- Subject to that, we are not liable for loss caused by relying on a cover list without checking it against the contract.
- Subject to that, our total liability to you for all claims arising from your use of Coverlist is limited to £100.
12. Links to other sites
Coverlist links to other websites, such as Who Writes This and the ICO. We are not responsible for their content.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, and the date at the top shows when. If you keep using Coverlist after a change, the updated terms apply.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
